Ethereum price chart with signals
Today's Ethereum signal explained
Ethereum is currently on a daily BUY signal: the Supertrend (10, 3) indicator flipped bullish 31 days ago and the price ($2,612) is trading above its 200-day simple moving average ($2,071). Both the short-term trend and the long-term regime filter agree, which is the only condition under which this system issues a daily buy.
The weekly swing signal is BUY. Ethereum broke above its 20-day closing high 1 day ago and has not yet closed below its 10-day low (currently $2,398). A close under that level would end the swing position.
The monthly position signal is BUY. Ethereum cleared its 55-day closing high 31 days ago. The exit for this slower rule is a close below the 20-day low, now at $2,392.
The yearly regime is ACCUMULATE: price is above a rising 200-day moving average. In the last five years this has been the environment in which most of the sustainable upside in Ethereum and in the wider crypto market has occurred.
Momentum check: the 14-day RSI is at 64.4. MACD is below its signal line. ADX at 47.2 indicates a strong trend. Volume is 1.63× its 20-day average. Over the last 7, 30 and 90 days Ethereum has moved +3.8%, +16.0% and +50.0% respectively; it trades -44.2% from its 52-week high and +66.6% above its 52-week low.

About Ethereum
Ethereum went live in July 2015 as a general-purpose smart contract platform, proposed by Vitalik Buterin and built out by a founding group that included Gavin Wood and Joseph Lubin. Its virtual machine, the EVM, lets developers deploy arbitrary programs that every node executes identically, which is the base layer most of DeFi, stablecoins and NFTs were built on. The chain secured itself with proof-of-work until The Merge in September 2022 replaced mining with proof-of-stake. ETH is the gas asset: fees are paid in it, validators stake it to propose and attest blocks, and since EIP-1559 a base-fee portion of every transaction is burned.
ETH trades as the reference asset for the smart-contract sector, and most large-cap altcoins show high beta to it while ETH itself stays closely correlated with Bitcoin over multi-week horizons, usually with deeper drawdowns. Supply has no hard cap; issuance scales with the amount staked and is partly offset by fee burning, so net supply growth moves with on-chain activity rather than a fixed schedule. Structural events that reshaped its behaviour include the Shapella upgrade of April 2023, which first allowed staked ETH to be withdrawn, the migration of activity and fee revenue to layer-2 rollups, and the launch of US spot ETH exchange-traded funds in 2024.
