About Plasma
Plasma went live with its mainnet beta on 25 September 2025 as a layer one built specifically for stablecoin payments rather than as a general-purpose smart contract platform. It is EVM-compatible, anchors to Bitcoin, and its signature feature is sponsored transfers that let users move USDT without holding the native token for gas, with fee abstraction allowing other assets to pay for more complex operations.
